Has Melbourne become ‘1980s New York’ after recent CBD incidents?
Jacqui Felgate wonders whether parts of the city are turning into the Bronx after two serious incidents in recent days.
A man with a suspected gunshot wound was found in the CBD in the early hours of Monday morning, while a man died after an alleged Elizabeth Street attack last Wednesday.
“Has Melbourne become 1980s New York and is the CBD now the Bronx,” Jacqui Felgate questioned on 3AW Drive.

Lord mayoral candidate Arron Wood told 3AW it was time to fix general anti-social behaviour in the city, which he believes has become all too common.
“(Crime) seems to be happening far too regularly (in the city),” he said.
