How Hugo ended up with a face full of turf at Marvel Stadium!

A Melbourne teenager has ended up with a face full of turf at Marvel Stadium after ambitiously diving for a catch at the cricket.

Hugo, 14, told Neil Mitchell the lure of $20 from a mate proved too good to resist.

Perth’s Dan Christian smacked a six in the vicinity of Hugo and his mates, sparking Hugo into action.

He leapt from his seat, over the fence, in his attempt to take a screamer.

It’s fair to say it didn’t come off as Hugo had hoped.

His mother, Lisa, said one of her other children alerted her to what was happening on the television.

“All I could think was that there was going to be a $10,000 fine coming our way,” she said with a laugh.
