Australian swimming sensation Ariarne Titmus is heading home from Birmingham with four gold medals, but not before taking some time to unwind.

Titmus won the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events, and was also part of the gold medal-winning 4x200m medley team.

She’s the first woman in 52 years to win the 200m, 400m and 800m treble.

“It’s been a really big week, a really big second half of the week with the 800 and the 400 back to back, but I’m happy to come away with the four from four!,” she told Neil Mitchell.

The 21-year-old says she’ll celebrate with teammates tonight, then spend the next three weeks out of the pool taking a well-earned break.

“My apartment has stashed away about 10 tubs of ice-cream … so we’ll probably crack those open,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to just having nothing to do.

“We’ll definitely have a bit of a celebrational drink tonight I’m pretty sure.”
