How a generation of kids came to link the AFL with gambling
Anti-gambling advocates say a generation of children have come to link gambling with the AFL under Gillon McLachlan’s tenure as CEO.
Dr Charles Livingstone, gambling researcher at Monash University, told 3AW Drive there was ‘overwhelming evidence’ that showed kids now used odds, rather than form or opinion, to determine which players were likely to kick goals or win possessions in games.
“There is no doubt about that,” he said.
