A Melbourne law firm has flagged it’s prepared to head to court to settle a class action from former AFL players suffering from the effects of concussion.

The firm’s managing principal, Michel Margalit, said they would argue the AFL has been negligent.

“They’ve been aware of the impact of concussion and its lasting life effects since 1995,” she told Neil Mitchell.

Player agent Peter Jess has long been on the case and told Tom Elliott it would only apply to professional footballers.

“If it’s your job, then you should be compensated as if it was your job,” he said.
