Heidi Murphy is calling for the removal of all clickable links in text messages to help combat scams.

Scams asking people to click on links in text messages are on the rise, with the push continuing for companies to use in-app notifications as an alternative.

But Heidi wants to see the completely removal of all links in text messages in order to ensure unsuspecting consumers aren’t scammed.

“Just get rid of those text messages with a link in them telling you about parcel deliveries,” she said on 3AW Drive.

“No texts would mean no second-guessing yourself or clicking distractedly on a link from a scammer. Get rid of clickable links in all text messages for that matter.”
