Heidi Murphy calls out health minister for not divulging the cost to potentially cancel the SRL

Heidi Murphy has called out the health minister for not divulging how much taxpayers would be forced to pay for the SRL if the loop were cancelled.

MP Mary Anne Thomas told reporters at a press conference earlier today she wouldn’t reveal the potential cost because the government have no plans to cancel the loop.

The fill-in host for the Drive program pointed out stage one is already costing taxpayers $35 billion.

“All indications [the get-out clauses] it’s going to hurt, it will be in the billions … in recent form, we’ve paid $589 million to not have a Commonwealth Games, we’ve paid $1.1 billion to not build the East-West link,” she said.
