Heartless vandals deface another Melbourne cemetery

Another cemetery in Melbourne has been defaced, leaving shocked families shocked.

The gravesite at the Melbourne General Cemetery in Carlton has been vandalised, with some statues beheaded.

“This vandalism is heartbreaking for those involved,” Jacqui Felgate told 3AW.

Tracey, who has grandparents buried at the cemetery, says a religious statue on the grave was damaged.

Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) later released a statement, confirming a “limited number of memorials” were damaged at the Melbourne General Cemetery.
