The chief executive of the National Heart Foundation says their website has been inundated following the recent shock deaths of Shane Warne and Kimberley Kitching at the age of 52.

Former Essendon footballer Dean Wallis, also 52, also suffered a heart attack at the weekend.

Thankfully, he is recovering from life-saving surgery.

Cardiologist Garry Jennings said while the heart attacks had understandably shaken the community, they shouldn’t come as a surprise.

“These can occur at any age,” he said.

“They’re more likely if you’re older, but we see plenty of people in their 30s, 40s and 50s before rates really start to increase in the 60s.”
