‘Heaps of smoke’: Fire breaks out at Preston restaurant

A fire has broken out at a dumpling restaurant near the corner of Plenty and Murray roads in Preston.

Listener Joe told Neil Mitchell there’s “heaps of smoke”.

Firefighters are on the scene and the blaze is now under control.

Andrew Crook from the Department of Transport says it’s causing traffic delays on Plenty Road and the route 86 tram has been suspended.
