Hawthorn’s star recruit suffers injury setback

Chad Wingard is unlikely to make his Hawthorn debut in Round 1.

The Hawks revealed on Thursday their star recruit had suffered an injury setback.

He’s been battling calf issues over the past month.

Wingard joined the Hawks from Port Adelaide over the off-season.

At this stage it’s unclear when he’ll be fit to play.
