Hawthorn pub owner ordered to take down sign exposing Monique Ryan’s voting record

Publican at the Tower Hotel in Hawthorn, Joe Rumoro, has been ordered by the Boroondara Council to remove a sign exposing the voting record of Kooyong MP Dr Monique Ryan.
The sign had been met with backlash from the Teals since going up last month, with the sign reading “Monique Ryan votes: 77% with Greens”.
And Mr Rumoro has accused the people in the council of having their “noses out of joint”.
Press PLAY to hear how the sign came about + his strong comments towards the Boroondara Council
“We believe that the council is dominated by Teals and Greens … and we believe that those people in council have got their nose out of joint,” Mr Rumoro told Tony Moclair on 3AW Afternoons.
“I pay a lot of local government tax and state government tax, I think I’m entitled to use the sign as I see fit.”
A Hawthorn publican claims the Boroondara Council has carried out a “political hit job” in ordering the removal of a sign highlighting the voting record of Kooyong MP Monique Ryan. > https://t.co/CWkZdclgVs pic.twitter.com/LPMaAYlUHA
