GWS chief lets rip over ‘unsavoury” commentary about Leon Cameron
GWS chief Dave Matthews has let rip on 3AW over what he says has been “unsavoury” commentary about Leon Cameron’s future in recent weeks.
Cameron stepped aside as coach today after almost a decade in the role.
“This is an industry that death rides coaches, that’s what they do, the industry, and I don’t like it,” Matthews said on 3AW.
“I think it’s unsavoury.”
He said Cameron had done an “outstanding” job as coach and did not deserve much of the commentary that had been directed his way in his time as coach.
“He’s a terrific person in football,” he said.
