Mickleham shooting likely linked to underworld
An organised crime gang appears to have claimed responsibility for a fatal shooting in Melbourne’s north.
Police were called to Bangalore Way in Mickleham shortly after midnight on Thursday after reports a man had been shot.
The man, 22-year-old Korey Kecici, was lured into a silver BMW then fatally shot.
The burnt out car was later found less than a kilometre away on Saint Georges Boulevard.
Police believe it was a planned underworld hit.
Within an hour of the shooting, a third party had posted a biblical passage on the Instagram account of the jailed boss of the gang known as the ‘Notorious Crime Family’.
It’s now more than 24 hours on and the search for the killers continues as police continue to probe whether the victim had links to Melbourne’s underworld.
No arrests have yet been made.
