Gunman caught after firing shots and then driving at police

UPDATE: An alleged gunman who drove at police after reports he fired shots has been arrested.

The frightening incident began to unfold around 2am on Tuesday at Callignee.

Police were called to a property on Neaves Road, south of Traralgon, amid reports a number of shots had been fired.

When they arrived a man, believed to be a 43-year-old Callignee resident, drove at them.

He allegedly threatened the officers with a firearm before driving off.

He was apprehended by police around 10am.

There are no reports of injuries.
