North Melbourne forward Nick Larkey says his side is playing better football than 2023 despite their win-loss record.

Alastair Clarkson’s side are off the mark this season, defeating West Coast by nine points at Optus Stadium.

Larkey, who kicked five goals during the match, said he was pleased his side were able to withstand the Eagles pressure to record their first win of 2024.

“I feel like we have improved as a side from last year,” Larkey said on 3AW Football.

“But it’s one quarter or a passage of player where we can’t stop (a run of goals) and the game is over after a quarter.”
