Group of squatters escape Essendon house fire

Thirteen squatters have escaped a housefire at Essendon overnight. 

The blaze start just after 2am inside the two story home on Russel street. 

Crews had to use special equipment to get into the boarded up home.

The squatters managing to evacuate unharmed.

$200,000 damage has been done, with the fire believed to be suspicious.
