Group of scammers target ‘vulnerable’ elderly women in the Box Hill area

A group of scammers are targeting elderly women in the Box Hill area, stealing over $150,000 in cash and jewellery.

Detectives believe a group of three women and two men are working together when they separately approach women on the street.

“It’s quite an embarrassing time for these victims as well, they do prey on vulnerable people,” Victoria Police Senior Constable Emma Faliszewski said about the victims and scammers.
