Treasurer Tim Pallas has fired back at Federal MP Greg Hunt for ‘reagitating’ the dumped East West Link deal.

This morning the Environment Minister unveiled a wish list of major road projects to receive federal funding in Victoria, but the Andrews government has staunchly maintained it’s off the cards.

Several key projects included widening the Monash Freeway, finishing the Ring Road and the Metro Rail project.

But Mr Pallas told Neil Mitchell Mr Hunt’s infrastructure wish list for Victoria had an element of ‘blue sky mining.’

He welcomed discussion on major projects, but said East-West Link was off the table.

‘It sounds a bit flakey when you’re prognosticating out to Melbourne in 2200,’ he said.

‘We don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves.

‘Greg Hunt’s been in the job two weeks and he’s got a plan that goes out 200 years.’
