Graham Arnold details the dire state of Socceroos funding

Graham Arnold says the Socceroos don’t get any government funding for “high performance resources”.

Arnold recently re-signed as Socceroos manager until 2026, having led Australia to their best-ever World Cup result in Qatar.

He told Sam McClure he believes the sport was punished after an unsuccessful campaign to host the World Cup.

“They gave us $40 million or so to bid for the World Cup and we got one vote,” he said on Wide World of Sports.

“That never happened, and it was like well we’re not giving you anything else.”
