GP practice treating hundreds of drug-addicted patients forced to close down
A health care centre in Frankston which treats over 1800 drug-addicted patients is being forced to close their doors sparking fears of increased crime.
Director at Frankston Health Care, Nadia Siciliano, says over 400 patients receiving methadone will now have to go to the emergency department at Frankston Hospital for treatment.
“We’ve been in liaison with the government for the past four months who promised that they would help us get funding … only to learn on Monday this week that the state government don’t want to help us,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
