Almost a year after being involved in a horror helicopter crash near SeaWorld on the Gold Coast, Winnie de Silva says she still remains traumatised by the incident.

On January 2 two choppers crashed mid-air, killing four people and resulting in eight other people sustaining injuries.

Winnie and her son Leon survived the crash, but are still suffering the physical and mental effects from incident.

“It’s the worst thing to have experienced,” she told Shane McInnes on 3AW Mornings.

“It’s hard because I won’t do this again and having injuries that are permanent in our bodies, it’s a worry that everything (you do) you need to be cautious.”
