Gold Coast gun Ben King suffers ACL injury at training

Gold Coast star Ben King will miss the 2022 season.

He’s suffered an ACL injury in his right knee and needs a reconstruction.

The star forward hurt himself in a marking contest on Thursday.

Scans have since confirmed the worst.

King is an emerging star of the AFL, booting 89 goals in his first 53 matches.

He’s out of contract at the end of the season and has been keenly monitored by Victorian clubs eager to entice him home.

His twin brother, Max, plays at St Kilda.
