Girl, 12, fills in for dad’s cricket team, doesn’t go out
From the RUMOUR FILE
A girl, 12, has gone unbeaten while filling in at the crease for her dad’s cricket team.
When the Apollo Bay Sharks C-Grade men found themselves short on numbers, they turned to under-14s youngster Jasmine Dunlop.
She faced the last two overs, and couldn’t be knocked over, scoring a dogged 0, not out.
Ross and John asked proud dad Darren Dunlop whether he was worried about seeing his little girl stride to the crease to face “tumble guts from the bar”.
“No, the guys look after the younger kids and slow the balls down,” he said.
“And they’re all padded up, so it’s no problem.
“She had a ball.”

Alas, despite the father-daughter duo, the Sharks didn’t get the points.
