Gillon McLachlan urges parties involved in Hawthorn probe to ‘find a way through’
AFL CEO Gillion McLachlan says he understands the stalled Hawthorn racism investigation is taking “a huge toll”, but he’s urging all involved to keep talking.
Alastair Clarkson, Chris Fagan and Jason Burt are refusing to be interviewed until documents detailing the allegations are handed over by the club.
McLachlan told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell, he understands the frustration over the drawn-out investigation, which has reached eight months without progressing to mediation.

“It’s very difficult but we are trying to find a way through where the parties can talk,” he said.
“The way the process has played out publicly has a huge toll on both sides.”
