AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says Brayden Maynard’s collision with Angus Brayshaw during last night’s qualifying final “will be looked at” today.

The Collingwood defender knocked out his Melbourne opponent as he came down from an attempted smother.

McLachlan told Neil Mitchell the fact Brayshaw was knocked out will be “a factor but not the defining factor” in the assessment of the incident.

“People have expressed strong view on both sides of the debate to me,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“It’s a big decision in the context of the finals series.”

In an in-studio interview with Neil Mitchell, McLachlan also discussed:

  • Richard Goyder’s absence from last night’s qualifying final
  • The Coles hand in the middle of the ground during the coin toss
  • The Welcome to Country and whether direction not to mention the Voice was given
