Gerard Healy urges Cricket Australia to uphold ball-tampering bans
Gerard Healy has urged Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts not to reduce the bans of the ball-tampering trio.
There’s growing speculation David Warner, Cameron Bancroft and Steve Smith could have their ball-tampering bans slashed allowing them to play Sheffield Shield cricket before the season is over.
The Sportsday co-host said it would be a “mistake” if the head body’s hardline stance was relaxed.
“Stay the line or risk doing a deal with the devil that will further compromise (Kevin Roberts’) shaky position.
“The penalty should stay and suggestions that the Longstaff review is a reason to reduce the (bans) only further insults our intellegance.
“It will be the big story this week.”
