Gerard Healy slams the “best-of-three” grand final debate SHUT with one simple fact
Gerard Healy has slammed the “best-of-three” grand final debate shut!
He said many were ignoring the final clause of the AFL’s new long-term deal with the MCG and Victorian Government that has been signed and is in effect until 2057.
“The MCG must host the deciding game, or potentially deciding game, of any grand final series,” the Sportsday host said.
“So in any scenario the MCG gets the final game, which means any Melbourne side will get the home ground advantage.
“It remains the ultimate decider.
“You haven’t “neutralised” anything.
“The best-of-three debate is over.
“Once that clause was agreed upon – it finished.”
