Heritage-listed Gembrook pub destroyed by fire
A prized heritage-listed pub in Melbourne’s outer-east has been gutted by fire this morning.
CFA crews were first called to The Ranges Hotel in Gembrook shortly after 6am.
Thirteen trucks were called to fight the massive blaze but the building sustained a massive amount of damage.
Main Street in Gembrook is closed between Redwood Road and Station Road.
3AW police reporter Pat Mitchell said it looks like there’s no hope of saving the beloved pub.
“Absolutely devastating, as you said it was lovingly restored just recently,” Pat said.
“And it looks like it’s been destroyed.”
