The Church of England is considering whether to stop referring to God as “he”.

At Adelaide’s Activate Church, gender neutral pronouns are already being used.

But former parish priest of St Mary’s Geelong, Father Kevin Dillon, says the change would hurt churches.

“If they made that change tomorrow the reality is, in essence, many of the people who are still hanging on by their fingernails would walk away,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“Hardly any would come on board.”
