It was a gallant effort for most of the night from the Blues, however Gold Coast kicked away to a big win in the final term.
Aaron Hall (40 disposals) and Tom Lynch (4 goals) were dominant players for the Suns. It’s the first time Gold Coast have won the first three matches of a season.

At half time, the Suns lead by 14 points. Nathan Brown is impressed with what he has seen from Carlton though, saying they should probably in front.
‘The Blues intensity, effort and work rate was outstanding,’ he said.
Browny also spoke about the possibility of moving Jacob Weitering to the forward line to help out Levi Casboult.

International recruit Brandon Kaufman joined 3AW Football pre-game and he made it clear that he has not come to Australia for a holiday.
‘I wouldn’t have come out here if I didn’t think that I could contribute at some point,’ said Kaufman.
‘Obviously haven’t done anything yet… I’m definitely extremely committed to it.
‘Hopefully it all turns out well and I’m on that field next year.’

The new look Carlton team is on show tonight and assistant coach John Barker discussed the ‘reset’ side with 3AW Football before the game.
‘We see this as a fresh Carlton team,’ said Barker.
‘We’re playing a different brand of footy and we’re expecting that to be on show.’
