Residents in Whittlesea are being left no choice but to fill up public rubbish bins as the council drops rubbish collection to twice a month.

Vice President at Council Watch, Dean Hurlston, says the issue is happening in municipalities all across Melbourne.

“Where a reduction in the frequency in collecting normal rubbish … what it says to us is people are becoming more bold and obviously can’t dispose of all their rubbish at home,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
