French government’s Olympic terrorism fears prompts Opening Ceremony shift
Renowned security expert Neil Fergus says there remains a very real terrorism threat in Paris just days before the Olympics begin.
The French government has raised the terror threat to its highest possible level ahead of the Games.
Fergus, who has worked with the Australian Olympic Committee in the past, told Shane McInnes the much-anticipated Opening Ceremony along the Seine River has been altered to tighten security measures.

“There has been some very significant changes to plan for the Opening Ceremony,” he said on The Olympics Today podcast.
“It is no longer going to have 600,000 (spectators) and it isn’t going to have the same length as had been first announced.”
