Four people injured in Westgate Bridge crash

Four people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the Westgate Bridge this afternoon.
The crash happened inbound near Williamstown Road around 12.30pm.
A man in his 40s has been taken to the Alfred Hospital in a serious condition with head injuries and a woman in her 30s taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition with possible spinal injuries.
A second man in his 40s has been taken to the Alfred in stable condition with chest injuries and a man in 50s was taken to the Royal Melbourne in a stable condition with hip injuries.
All lanes have re-opened just before 2pm but traffic is heavy on approach, stretching back to Grieve Parade.
VicRoads have advised commuters to avoid the area and take the Princes Hwy/Geelong Rd > Footscray Rd > Wurundjeri Way route instead.
