Former Whitefriars College student to face charges over James Russouw murder
A former student from Whitefriars College in Donvale will face court today over the 2008 stabbing murder of a former vice-captain of the school.
The one-time Whitefriars College vice-captain James Russouw was 24 in March 2008 when police say he got a call from payphone outside Burwood Kmart.
His body was later found in the back of a burnt-out Jeep in East Burwood reserve.
A $1 million reward was announced last month, with another former Whitefriars student – two years younger than James – arrested in Cairns on Wednesday.
Christopher Lavery, 30, will face court there today as Victorian Police seek to have him extradited to face charges in Melbourne.
