Former premier outraged by ‘rude’ letter from parliament
UPDATE: The state parliament will formally apologise to a former premier, after wrongfully accusing him of breaching parliamentary security.
3AW’s Rumour File has been told the Speaker of the House was so incensed that Denis Napthine entered the building without proper approval, he sent a letter to the former Liberal premier expressing his displeasure.
But Dr Napthine has hit back at the Speaker’s letter, telling Ross and John, he has been wrongly accused.
‘It was rude, abrupt, discourteous.’
A spokesperson for parliament presiding officers has since said they have been advised an error was made and will issue an apology.
