Former ODI skipper’s high praise for Pat Cummins following World Cup win
Former Australian ODI skipper Aaron Finch has heaped praise on Pat Cummins’ tactical nous following the Aussies’ upset World Cup win over India.
Travis Head’s 137 with the bat was the stand out as Australia beat the host nation by six wickets to win their sixth ODI World Cup.
Finch, who captained his country from 2018 to 2022, said the against-all-odds victory in front of a raucous Indian crowd will go down as one of the country’s best ever cricketing wins.

“Even reign that (Pat Cummins) pulled (with his tactics) was the right one,” Finch said on Wide World of Sports.
“Then went with some funky fields at different times as well, that just goes to show the level of planning. It takes a bit of courage to make some moves in a final.
“I think it will go down as one of Australia’s greatest ever wins.”
