Former heroin addict and senior peer support worker at Turning Point, Baden Hicks, is in favour of a second safe injecting room in Melbourne’s CBD.

The second facility could be located at the Salvation Army building on Bourke Street, with the Andrews Government reportedly holding talks with the organisation about the proposal, but no decision has been made.

Mr Hicks says a second injecting room has been needed “for a long time”.
