NRL powerhouse club Melbourne Storm have made the decision to scrap regular Welcome to Country ceremonies at their home games, with the club in discussions with Indigenous groups about the way they can acknowledge the Indigenous culture.

Former premiership small forward at the Geelong Cats Matt Stokes joined 3AW Mornings and weighed in on the Storm’s decision.

“I firmly believe in what the Storm are doing, having a mature conversation on the significance of it,” Stokes said.
