Five teens arrested in Springvale fast food drive-through
Five youths have been arrested after police cornered a stolen Mercedes in the drive-through of a fast food outlet in Melbourne’s south-east.
Police say the Mercedes, which had been stolen during an aggravated burglary at Hawthorn yesterday morning, is also linked to an armed robbery at Endeavour Hills at about 9pm last night.
Officers discreetly followed the vehicle from Doveton from about 11.30pm to a fast food outlet on Springvale Road in Springvale.
Police blocked off the exit and entry points of the drive through and the offender allegedly reversed into a police vehicle in an attempt to escape.
Officers smashing the windows of the Mercedes, taking five youths into custody.
The teens — aged 15 to 17 — remain in custody this morning as the investigation continues.
