First on 3AW: Car-jackers go on wrecking rampage as terrified driver tries to flee
FIRST ON 3AW
A terrified driver was forced to ram into their assailants’ car in a horrifying attempted car-jacking in Melbourne’s east this morning.
As exclusively revealed by Neil Mitchell, a BMW sedan with at least four men inside cut-off a car on Amery Avenue in Blackburn about 3.10am.
When the scared victims, a 22-year-old Hawthorn woman and 23-year-old Blackburn man, refused to leave their car, the offenders went on a wrecking rampage.
One used a metal pole to smash the driver’s window and windscreen while the others began kicking at the car and trying to force the doors open.
In attempting to flee, the driver smashed into the crooks’ car.
They eventually drove off and went straight to Box Hill police station to report the crime.
Police say the men are described as being of African in appearance.
The BMW is silver in colour with damage to the front passenger side as a result of the collision.
