Federal opposition wins praise over childcare subsidy commitment

The federal opposition has won praise over its commitment to a universal childcare subsidy.

Samantha Page, CEO of Early Childhood Australia, said Australia was “well behind” other developed countries on that issue.

She told Tom Elliott childcare should be treated as part of the education system.

“I think it is,” she said.
