Father left angered after his teenage son was assaulted by Essendon fan at Marvel Stadium

Footy fans have been slammed for not intervening in the assault of a teenage boy at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

A 15-year-old Gold Coast Suns supporter had his jumper ripped with scratches on his chest by a man believed to be in his 40s during the clash with Essendon.

The boy’s father John told Tom Elliott the attack was reported to security but it was too late, labelling the situation as a “disgrace”.
