Farmer painted onto silo to attract visitors to rural communities

A farmer from the tiny town of Patchewollock has had his portrait painted onto a silo.

It is hoped the artwork will draw some people to the farming town, roughly 400km northwest of Melbourne, which has been hit hard by drought in the past few years.

Nick Hulland told Ross and John he’s ‘pretty embarrassed’ about having his likeness watching over the town, whose population is just 250.

‘I suppose I’ve got to live with it,’ he said.

The mural forms part of a Silo Art Trail, featuring similar artwork in six small towns in Yarriambiack? shire.
