Investigations are underway into a Parkinson’s Disease cluster in the Grampians and Loddon Mallee.

The condition is 78 per cent higher in the region than in the rest of the state

This calls for research into pesticides used in the farming of barley, lentils and chickpeas.

The figures, from Monash University, show the figure for Horsham is the highest, at 76 per cent.

Associate Professor David Finkelstein, neurobiologist and Chair of Parkinson’s Victoria spoke with Justin and Kate this morning,

David says – ‘It’s not the food, the food is completely safe.’ –

‘When you use chemicals in industrial quantities, the population around those areas have an increase in parkinsons disease.’
