Chaos, explosions, road closures and toxic smoke at Dandenong South paint factory fire
Scenes at a paint factory in Dandenong South have been described as chaotic as fire crews battle to get a blaze under countrol.
Channel Nine reporter, Reid Butler, says there are a lot of emergency services at the factory including police and ambulances.
“There are also a lot of road closures in the industrial area around Superior Drive, so try and steer clear of that area,” he told Tony Moclair.

A fire at a paint factory is currently underway in Dandenong South with reports of explosions.
Caller Rob says he was at a nearby store when he saw giant “plumes of black smoke”.
“Going from the Frankston – Dandenong direction, all the way up to the Princes Highway … It’s probably the equivalent of 10 to 15 kilometres width of smoke,” he said.

Caller Mark has warned people south of the fire to keep their windows close
“There’s about 30 firetrucks here, so they’ll have it under control,” he said
