Essendon legend says the club’s days as a ‘great club’ are over
Matthew Lloyd thinks the days of Essendon being a destination club are over.
In the wake of the Bombers’ humbling defeat to Carlton, Lloyd told 3AW the club needs to take a long look inward.
“Everyone’s thought Essendon’s a great club, players might want to play for Essendon,” Lloyd said on Sunday Sport.
“But those days are over.
“When you consider a final hasn’t been won for 14 years, they’ve been in finals and belted out of them, it’s time to look at every department of the football club.”
