Emergency involving Australian man unfolding on cruise ship

A search and rescue mission is underway on a cruise ship bound for Hawaii, where an Australian man has gone overboard.

A rescue mission is underway on the Royal Caribbean International’s Quantum of the Seas, which left Brisbane two weeks ago.

Royal Caribbean, owner of the cruise liner, says the crew immediately launched a search and rescue operation.

The US Coast Guard has sent a military plane to assist with the search.
