Electronic companies rated for ethical supply chains
Research has revealed consumers are increasingly conscious of the ethics of electronics companies.
Allegations of child labour and extremely low wages in developing nations have dogged many companies and angered consumers over the years.
But Gershon Nimbalker from Baptist World Aid told Tom Elliott companies are starting to respond.
‘The companies that that have the sharpest spotlight shone on them are the ones that are taking the most action to address the issue,’ Mr Nimbalker said.
BWA has released a report rating 56 electronics companies’ supply chains, and although not one received an A grade, some of the companies that performed best include:
- Apple
- Microsoft
- LG
- Intel
- HP
