Elderly woman in hospital following nasty South Geelong stabbing

An elderly woman is in hospital with serious injuries following a nasty stabbing in South Geelong last night.

The 73-year-old woman was walking home from a family member’s house on Mundy Street when a man approached her from behind near the corner of Bellarine Street.

Police say the man stabbed her several times before walking away.

The woman managed to seek assistance from a nearby home and this morning is in hospital with serious injuries.

A 32-year-old man has since been arrested at his home in South Geelong and remains in custody.
